EisnerAmper

Intern

January - March 2025 • Birmingham, AL

What I liked

My favorite part of the internship is the people. I felt very supported by all levels of staff. I also appreciated that there was clear communication of expectations for interns.

What I wish was different

I would have liked if reviews came back quicker, so that I would not make the same mistake unknowingly.

Advice

Always try to come in with a good attitude and plan for traffic.

PCS intern

June - August 2024 • New York, NY

What I liked

All the interns are very close to each other. Everyone wants to form connections and figure out better ways to receive and complete work together.

What I wish was different

This internship couldn't have gone better in my opinion. But the hardest thing is getting something to work on as summer tends to be less busy for tax accountants.

Advice

Form connections with current Eisner employees quickly as it will benefit you in getting work experience. The more people you are able to ask for work each day, the more likely you are to get it.

What I liked

The first thing that stood out to me was the culture. Everyone here is extremely nice, professional, and welcoming. I have met many great people and all of them have fit this description. That is part of the culture they have built here at EisnerAmper.

What I wish was different

To no fault of EisnerAmper, the summertime is very slow, so the work we have done as interns isn't as much as I expected to see up to this point. Hopefully that increases as the summer goes on, however it seems from asking around that the summers get pretty slow in this profession.

Advice

The best piece of advice I could give is to ask questions. You are here to learn and the best way to learn is to ask questions. No one expects you to be a master at this as an intern.

Overall, the internship was a great experience. I enjoyed having the opportunity to work on a variety of different tax returns with the full-time staff and to learn what busy season was like for tax accountants. As for the culture of the office, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Tax Intern

January 2023 • Lafayette, LA

What I liked

Been with my office for roughly a year and four months, so I've gotten to know my coworkers and the company well. Everyone is helpful and genuine, if you have a question they will find the time to help you. During my internship I was given actual tax returns to do, which is something that I appreciated. There is much to gain with an internship here, ranging from technical know-how to developing analytical skills. You will learn both on the job and by going to some of their training sessions.

What I wish was different

Advice

When you start the internship you will probably feel overwhelmed. Know that it is not the job, it is just a new experience. Give it some time and you will improve and feel more comfortable.
