GIS Technician

Essential Job Functions:

  • Preparing Assessment/Remediation Reports.
  • Miscellaneous Regulatory Permitting.
  • Experience working as an environmental GIS professional with programming and database management experience.
  • Experience with federal/state environmental regulatory programs and remediation activities, CERCLA, and/or RCRA.
  • GIS experience in ESRI ArcPro with environmental investigations and environmental analytical data.
  • Experience compiling, analyzing, and reporting on environmental data from a variety of sources including investigation reports, field observation, environmental sampling results, databases, and other existing reports and figures.
  • Creating and managing GIS data for multiple projects in multiple locations
  • Locating and incorporating site-specific data as needed from multiple sources.
  • Editing and manipulating GIS data for project tracking, map production, and analysis

This position would require approximately 75% travel within North Dakota, Colorado, and surrounding states.

Required Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, related environmental/engineering field, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Current OHSA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Must have a safe driving record and a valid Driver's License and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving policy.

  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, both internally and externally.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Independently problem solve and work autonomously with a sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Required knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft Office and Adobe).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint preferred.
