The CALPIA Optical program is designed to meet California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) needs statewide needs. The Optical program will train incarcerated individuals with the necessary knowledge and skill level needed to meet the highest possible standards. The Optical program provides Optical services to the CDCR institutions. In return CALPIA provides training for a skilled workforce in the private sector upon release, reducing the potential for recidivism.
The PIA is looking to fill a Prison Industry Superintendent I (Optical Products) position at Valley State Prison. The Prison Ind Superintendent I (Optical Products) will be required to work inside a prison directly with incarcerated individuals instructing, leading, and providing instruction to assist with Optical services.
