Front End Engineer II

Pay Range

The full pay range is $38.34-$57.51/hour. Depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available. Incentives targets vary by role.

 

We offer a bilingual differential for employees who can assist our members' financial needs in a second language. Proficiency is subject to passing a standardized verbal assessment. Currently approved languages are Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Tagalog.

We are seeking a Front End Engineer II to join our team! This position develops advanced front-end features and optimizes web applications for maximum speed and scalability. Works closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features, ensuring code quality and maintainability thorough best practices. Mentor junior engineers, monitor performance metrics, and contribute to the continuous integration process, driving improvements based on user feedback.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Design Team and implements user interface designs from wireframes and prototypes using tools like Figma.
  • Builds reusable components from the Design System.
  • Develops responsive web applications ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
  • Maintains and improves existing web applications for optimal performance.
  • Develops the integration of front-end components with back-end services.
  • Ensures web applications meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Writes unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability of the front-end code.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving front-end related issues.
  • Documents components, code logic, and functionality to facilitate collaboration and maintenance.
  • Participates in code reviews and follow coding best practices.
  • Develops and implement advanced front-end features and applications.
  • Optimizes web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Implements and monitors performance metrics for web applications to ensure they meet performance benchmarks.
  • Manages feature toggles and phased rollouts of new features.
  • Uses best practices in code quality and maintainability.
  • Mentors junior front-end engineers and review their code contributions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in front-end development.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Master's in Computer Science or related field of study

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in advanced JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Solid understanding of web standards, accessibility, and SEO principles.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Vuex).
  • Familiarity with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web service integration.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize code for performance.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance is paid at a 100% by company for the employee coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Day Care FSA (DCFSA). Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.

 

All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
