Duties

The primary duties of this position are: Plans, executes and completes cartographic and Geospatial Information System (GIS) projects which may vary from a single task to a multifaceted process incorporating extensive coordination, research, data creation or manipulation, analysis, complex map or data output, presentations or training.

Participates in planning, organizing, and conducting GIS project work and provides support for the GIS Team.

Works to ensure that GIS datasets are fully documented and validated, including meeting BORGIS guidelines and metadata standards, including National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) or Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata standards.

This is a temporary, competitive service appointment that is being offered on a "term" basis, not to exceed 4 Years. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status in the Federal service. A term appointment may be terminated at any time prior to the initial end date of the appointment.
