Job Description and Duties
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated group of scientists investigating health of sea otters and other marine wildlife. This position involves assisting with post-mortem examinations (necropsies) of sea otters and other marine wildlife other related tasks. Related tasks include scanning, entering, and error-checking data; organizing, cleaning, and restocking laboratory equipment and supplies; cleaning laboratory laundry; and assisting with collection, transport, and disposal of sea otter carcasses.
The Fish and Wildlife Scientific Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

Working Conditions
Work in an office environment that involves sitting most of the time and the use of a computer for several hours of the day. Work in a laboratory where in adherence to standard safety protocols, incumbent will be exposed to formalin and other laboratory chemicals, and occasionally to radiation from x-rays. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be prepared to travel using a State vehicle. May be required to drive long distances seated for extended periods of time.
