Maintenance Engineer

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to work within their facilities located in Lake Charles, LA, for a 1-year assignment. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in morning line-up and/or routine scheduling meetings.
  • Coordinate with OMC, Planners, and Reliability Engineer to schedule maintenance work.
  • Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
  • Conducting and overseeing maintenance process audits as well as establishing different maintenance procedures and protocols. Includes but not limited to:
  • Conduct weekly audits of field equipment.
  • Modify & maintain SMPs.
  • Work with the Reliability Engineers in the Fixed & Rotating group to determine equipment care strategies.
  • Work with the Planners to better refine task lists within PMs.
  • Training staff on equipment operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Work to enforce the usage of SMPs.
  • Responding to equipment emergencies with technical support.
  • Work with a hands-on approach with Company Maintenance representatives to troubleshoot & resolve issues.
  • Communicate daily with the Reliability Engineer and Maintenance about equipment issues.
  • Create notifications of field audit findings and document failure modes
  • Document repair events in Meridium to track failures over time.
  • Drive QA/QC process during the Maintenance execution phase.
  • Update & maintain the status of equipment sent out for repairs.
  • Communicate with Reliability Engineer equipment changes so equipment assignment events can be entered into Meridium
  • Predict and strategize for system overhauls and upgrades, while considering maintenance budgets and expenditures.
  • Work with the Maintenance & Operations Superintendent to manage the maintenance budget. Set & track maintenance KPIs.
  • Aid in the development Work with the Reliability Engineer on the improvement of preventative maintenance & predictive maintenance program.
  • Work with the Reliability Engineer to Analyze and update the equipment BOMs as well as set-up critical spare assemblies and spare parts in the warehouse.
  • Track spare fixed equipment (namely HEXs) and ensure equipment is repaired and ready for service.
  • Provide field support for hot taps.
  • Support Fixed Equipment repairs by assisting with scope development for simple jobs.
  • Provide field support as needed during temporary leak repair process (i.e. clamps, wraps, etc.).
  • Perform informal investigations (5-why, etc.) on equipment failures and steward correction actions.

Education/Experience: 

  • Engineering degree 
  • 2+ years’ experience required
  • Ability to get a TWIC card
  • Experience with SAP and/or Meridium is a plus
