Fire Medical Officer

HIRING RANGE DOQ: $3,585.60 - $3,999.20 bi-weekly

Job Summary 
The Emergency Medical Officer will direct comprehensive policy and procedure for Sioux Falls Fire Rescue (SFFR) Emergency Medical Services, Department Health and Safety, Return-to-Work, and Fitness for Duty Examination.

Qualifications and Skills

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse:

Graduation from an accredited APRN training program. A master’s degree in nursing is required. Must hold or have ability to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid South Dakota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license. One (1) year of experience desirable; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

 

Physician Assistant:

Graduation from an accredited physician assistant training program. Must hold or have ability to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid South Dakota Physician Assistant License. One (1) year of

experience desirable; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

OUR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS SUMMARY

  • Competitive salary with other public and industry positions, including step advancements.
  • The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive an 8% match. Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

  • New employees will receive a bank of 40 hours of vacation upon hire followed by an accrual of 6.75 hour per month in the first year, and 10 hours per month in year two of service.
