DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking for a Talented Individual to fill the role of Junior Software Engineer. If you are looking for an exciting place to work, Applied Research Associates, Inc. JWS is an operational weaponeering software application used by the Army, Air Force, and Navy that consists of a collection of simulation models and tools that is used to calculate nonnuclear munitions effectiveness against materiel and structural targets for air-to-surface and surface-to-surface engagements.  JWS is used to authenticate weapons effectiveness data for use in operations, training, systems acquisitions, weapons procurement, and combat modeling and simulation.

 

Junior Software Engineer Specific duties and responsibilities include:

     * Design and implementation of software according to requirements

     * Creation and maintenance of software unit tests to verify API functionality

     * Coordination with other in-house developers and engineers to verify successful implementation and determine how well the final product satisfies the defined requirements

 

Junior Software Engineer Required Skills:

     * Knowledge of C#, C++ (or equivalent) development experience

     * Knowledge of advanced software constructs and programming concepts

     * Good communication skills and ability to work within a larger software development team

     * Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as git (or similar)

     * Familiar with software development methods such as Agile or Test-Driven development

     * Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) – Visual Studio/.Net preferred

 

Additional consideration for:

     * Good understanding of mathematical and physics concepts

     * Understanding of 3D geometric modeling/visualization

     * Understanding of weapons effects analysis

 

Junior Software Engineer Qualifications:  

     * Bachelor of Science, Computer Science or Related fields

     * 0-2 Years: Related experience

     * US Citizen, able to receive and maintain DoD Security Clearance
