Associate Writer Description
B. Riley Advisory Services - Inventory Group is seeking a full-time Associate Writer to work remotely, with the option for in-person ofoffice time (dependent upon the candidate’s current location).
The Associate Writer is an excellent writer with strong research skills and a genuine interest in learning about a variety of companies and industries. The Associate Writer exhibits attention to detail while working on multiple appraisal reports, communicating with team members and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
B. Riley Advisory Services - Inventory Group’s inventory appraisal reports describe the inventory, operations, industry, and financial trends of a company to explain the strategy for liquidating the company’s inventory in the event of a liquidation sale. The appraisal reports identify the key factors impacting the inventory’s appraised value.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Produce three to four appraisal reports each month under the direction of their direct manager
- Conduct independent company and industry research online
- Integrate information obtained from field notes, management interviews, and team meetings
- Use financial exhibits to write about key financial trends
- Synthesize all independent research and team-provided information to produce a structured, insightful report
- Review report for errors, integrate corrections during the review process, and meet deadlines
- Stay informed with newsworthy information relevant to key industries
- Research industry trends and assist in the writing of Industry Monitor publications
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in English, Writing, Communications, or similar major
- No prior experience necessary
- Interest in business and finance a plus, but not required
- School newspaper experience a plus
- Detail-oriented, able to effectively manage time, strong planning skills, and excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel operations
- Demonstrated proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications, as well as other office software products in a Windows environment
- Proficiency with Internet use, email functions, and website applications
Compensation
Salary: $50,000
