Part-Time RHAS Program Support

ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Part-Time RHAS Program Support for our Relative Home Assessment Services Program located in Long Beach, CA.

Relative Home Assessment Services (RHAS) program provides home environment assessment to applicants to ensure that they meet required standards in all areas, which include but are not limited to, home and grounds, outdoor activity space, storage requirements, fire clearance and capacity. Under the direct supervision of the RHAS Training Coordinator, the Part-Time (On-Call) Program Support is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of children in the office environment and overseeing a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant setting. This position will be required to work varying shifts, including some nights and weekends.

Part-Time RHAS Program Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete proper registration, check-in/check-out of children & parents, both in person and via virtual platform(s).
  • Provide friendly atmosphere for parents and children.
  • Provide constant interaction with children, such as initiating games and arts & crafts projects, while watching and caring for children to ensure their safety.
  • Maintain calm atmosphere and remain organized while interacting with children.
  • Complete general tidying duties after children depart, such as cleaning and sanitizing child care toys.
  • Maintain a working area free of sharp or harmful objects, utilizing strong safety skills.
  • Walk children to the restroom, as necessary.
  • Bottle-feed babies and/or assist in snack preparation/nutrition needs of older children in accordance with parental direction.
  • Communicate information regarding children to parents/guardians/caregivers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents/guardians/caregivers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Provide clerical assistance and support to RHAS Program.
  • Abide by ChildNet policies and procedures.

The Part-Time RHAS Program Support shall possess:

  • 9 - 12 units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD); OR
  • 6 - 12 months paid work experience in an ECE environment; OR
  • Have at least 2 years of work experience caring for children ranging in age from infant to teenager.
  • Must have a valid Child/Infant CPR/First Aid training certificate
  • Schedule flexibility is necessary and employee must be available for night or weekend shifts.
  • An associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and understanding Spanish is preferred.

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
