Inside Sales Engineer

We're looking to hire an Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) to support our Sales Operations teams. To get your career started off on the right foot, you will participate in our Caltrol University (Caltrol U) engineering development program. Caltrol U is the name of the rotational onboarding experience for newly hired ISE's. You will acquire a strong foundation in Caltrol's operations, products, customers, and territory before beginning a more focused training and on-boarding in one of its business units. Upon completion of the 2-3 month onboarding, the ISE can choose to work in either Las Vegas, NV, Chandler, AZ, Irvine, CA, or Livermore, CA. This is a regular, full-time position.

Program Highlights:

  • Multi-week residencies in Caltrol's offices in Southern CA, Chandler, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV.
  • Program duration is up to 2-3 months including paid travel and living expenses.
  • Exposure to Caltrol's primary business units and valve disciplines including Flow Controls, Isolation & Actuation, Mechanical Services, Pressure Management, and Process Systems & Solutions, Projects, and Sales.
  • Mentorship and training from Caltrol's subject matter experts.
  • Exposure and engagement with key process industries served by Caltrol.

The Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) is the front line of providing excellent customer service and superior support to Caltrol's customers. The ISE gathers the required data to size, select, and quote solution. Oftentimes this individual is the first point of contact with our customers, so a combination of technical “know-how” and customer service skills are required.

As an Inside Sales Engineer (ISE), you will: 

  • Work closely with customers to engineer solutions for their process control applications.
  • Provide technical and commercial guidance to customers and coworkers.
  • Understand and communicate customer's needs and business issues internally.

Hiring Range: 

The hiring range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00 p/hour. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

What we're looking for:  

  • College degree with a STEM focus and/or demonstration of general technical sales competency.
  • Strong customer, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Team attitude and willingness to coordinate projects internally.
  • Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workload to meet customer deadlines.

Physical Demands/Travel: 

Must be willing to travel throughout Caltrol's southwestern territory as needed.
