Junior Software Developer

Summary
The Junior Software Developer will be responsible for the development and modification of the HIE (Health Information Exchange) interfaces for Contexture and development of HIE tools using solutions and technology such as C#, SQL, MongoDB, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and Web UIs (User Interface). 

 

As part of the Product Development Team at Contexture, this position will support the development of new and existing solutions. As applicable, after-hours work may be necessary to support deployments, changes, or major incident response. 

 

This position is based in Phoenix Arizona or Denver Colorado. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Write and maintain software for Contexture’s current and future tools and solutions
  • Attend intermittent design discussions for new products, features, and tools
  • Work with their Development Manager and other team members to follow best practices for integrations and custom tools. This position will be encouraged to think and provide feedback and suggestions for development efforts. 
  • Work closely with Operations, QA (Quality Assurance), Implementation, and Project Management to support technical efforts throughout the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation of coded solutions
  • Develop software utilizing security best practices 
  • Must occasionally be available for after-hours work, outside of normally scheduled hours
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

  • .NET languages, particularly C# 
  • ASP.Net or Related Web Development 
  • Understanding of Java and JavaScript
  • Understanding of APIs
  • Object Notation Languages: JSON, XML, BSON 
  • Analytical, design, and troubleshooting skills 
  • Git Version Control (GitHub)
  • Agile development practices using JIRA desired
  • SQL (Any flavor) and/or reporting tools desired 
  • NoSQL solutions, particularly MongoDB desired
  • Understanding of the Healthcare domain desired
  • .NET Certification desired 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical business users and customers

Education/Experience

Experience in database development, implementation, assessment, integration, data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) within larger databases. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required, Associates/Bachelor’s Degree, and/or technical program certificate preferred.

Physical Demands

The person in this position needs to frequently communicate and exchange information and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a keyboard, monitor, calculator, copy / scanner machine, and printer. Frequently moves office and work-related material weighing up to 10 pounds; Occasionally moves office and work-related material weighing up to 30 pounds.
