Construction Manager

Construction Manager Summary:

The Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the construction of homes in an assigned community to ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards are met. Monitor reports, assist in pre-construction and production of homes, and supervise trade partner’s work, assuring that such work complies with standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the job site & supervise daily trade partner activities in accordance with job schedules & scopes of work
  • Utilize Build Pro for trade partner notification & invoice approval
  • Inspects/ensures that work is in compliance with City/County/State requirements & building codes
  • Plan all construction activities on homes from start to finish (including pre-construction, pre-drywall, & final presentation meetings)
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings & final presentation with the customer
  • Oversee the construction & inspection of the home using inspection forms, plans, & procedures
  • Negotiate solutions raised by inspectors & trade partners
  • Walk assigned homes twice a day, ensuring job site cleanliness & safety compliance (as required by State & Federal guidelines)
  • Maintain safety logs & conduct regular on-site safety meetings
  • Perform SWPPPS inspections as required by County, State & Federal guidelines.
  • Address safety, quality, & legal requirements to ensure a high-quality home is provided within budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Construction Manager (CM) Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED/ College degree preferred
  • Must have at least 1+ year of experience in a construction-related field
  • Must possess organization skills (keeping current daily schedules, maintaining timely & accurate flow of paperwork)
  • Must possess excellent time management & interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient with new technology such as iPads (including experience w/ programs like MS Office, BuildPro, etc.)
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License & auto insurance w/ good driving record
  • Must have knowledge of construction & building code practices & procedures
  • Must have the ability to read/ interpret blueprints
