This student-employment position is for the Wiener-Rogers Law Library's Circulation Desk, which is located at the Boyd School of Law.

Basic Circulation Desk tasks include the following:

  • Shelving materials, shelf-reading and organization assignments;
  • Providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, and public patrons;
  • Check materials in/out, registering new students/patrons, reserving study rooms, and collecting fines on Library's multiple programs;
  • Assisting Law Librarians and Circulation Desk Staff complete tasks and projects;
  • Prepare for and cleanup of special events/activities.

The position is expected to begin training during summer break. The training schedule varies between the Law Library's hours of operation (Monday-Saturday), approximately 12 - 15 hours per week during the summer break.

The student-employee hired for this position will have a set work schedule for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester, which is to be determined by 1 August 2024. Student-employees are scheduled to work between 15 to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. 

Job qualifications include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Practice excellent interpersonal communication skills, punctuality, and adaptability.
  • Have the knowledge and capability to operate computers.
  • Be capable of shelving books, retrieving mail, moving furniture when necessary (e.g., special event setup), and transferring materials throughout campus.
  • As a student-employee, the applicant must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per academic semester at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Work schedules are adjusted to accommodate the Law School's academic calendar and operational needs, such as extended hours from Law School's study weeks to the end of final exams. Student-employees are limited to no more than 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, and no more than 40 hours per week during academic breaks (e.g., winter break, spring break, summer).
