Job Description:  

This is technical services work in performing difficult and moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of lab and office engineering specialties. This position will be responsible for safely working with a small team to perform testing of Asphalt Binder and Mixtures at the MaineDOT Central Laboratory in Bangor Maine. Other duties may include equipment maintenance/calibration, data entry, and related activities.

Preference will be given to those who have a Certification with NETTCP as an Asphalt Plant Technician or PG Asphalt Binder Technician. Candidates without certification will be developed with the expectation of becoming Certified in at least one discipline within 2 years of hire. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate semi-skilled personnel performing testing activities.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
