About the Position:

Under the direction of the Road Charge Program Manager, the Staff Services Manager II serves as the Legislative & Policy Specialist of the Road Charge Program, which is a study of alternative transportation funding mechanisms, and performs and responds to difficult and complex work related to the messaging of the road charge concept, development of key policies, and drafting of supporting statute. The SSM II acts as a liaison between multiple divisions within Caltrans, other state agencies, the California State Transportation Agency, other states, and a wide array of external transportation stakeholders in developing a fully implementable road charge system for the State of California. The SSM II will assist in developing program messaging and in managing the performance of the program's consulting contracts.
