Operations Manager

Operations Manager Job Description: 

The Operations Manager will support the operations of three business units: Hoseki, Ten Homakase, and our new Chinese concept. 

This will be an opportunity to develop a new restaurant, and help implement changes to streamline and support current operations. The Operations Manager will work extremely closely with management and ownership and gain exposure to all aspects of what it takes to run a high functioning restaurant and catering business. 

Responsibilities: Your role will be multifaceted, touching on various aspects of our operations.

Chinese Restaurant (50%):

  • Concept Development: Play a pivotal role in the development of our new Chinese concept, from branding and menu design to restaurant layout. Ensure the concept aligns with market trends and our overarching brand ethos.
  • Operational Management & Staffing: Work closely with the management team as an opening manager, overseeing all operational aspects of the restaurant's launch. Lead recruitment, training, and development, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Systems and Procedures Optimization: Continuously evaluate and update operational systems and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience. Implement best practices in inventory management, staff scheduling, and quality control.

Ten Homakase (35%):

  • Sales Management & Event Operations: Spearhead the sales strategy for catering events, ensuring a high conversion rate and outstanding client satisfaction. Oversee the end-to-end operations of catering events, from initial client consultation to post-event feedback.
  • B2B Sales and Partnership Development: Actively seek and establish strong relationships with caterers, event planners, and venues to secure lucrative B2B sales opportunities. Develop and implement sales strategies that align with our brand's vision and market positioning.
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media Oversight: Manage and grow our Instagram presence, crafting engaging content that highlights our unique offerings and attracts a dedicated follower base.
  • Event Support and Staff Coordination: Provide hands-on support during live events, including serving and staff coordination, to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

Hoseki (15%):

  • Marketing Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships that enhance our brand visibility and attract new clientele. Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Oversee the info@ email, providing timely and empathetic responses to general inquiries. Develop a customer feedback loop to inform operational improvements and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Front-of-House (FOH) Support: Provide exceptional service as a member of the FOH staff when needed.

Requirements:

  • A passion for food, hospitality, and Chinese cuisine
  • 2+ years experience in restaurant operations
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
  • English fluency

Pay: You will receive an annual salary ranging from $60,000-$80,000 disbursed via weekly paychecks. Additionally, you will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance-based bonus as well as sales commissions on catering events. 

Schedule: The restaurant industry is a dynamic and flexible one. You will generally work five (5) days a week with two consecutive days off, likely Sunday & Monday or Monday & Tuesday. Your hours will vary, encompassing both operational tasks (working in the Chinese restaurant) and administrative duties (managing the Homakase business). Just as we adapt and work flexibly, we expect the same dedication and flexibility in aligning with the demands of the restaurant industry.
