Talent Development Assistant

Come join our team! The City of Saint Paul Office of Human Resources is hiring a Management Assistant I to support our Training and Development Team. This is an exciting opportunity to supporting the HR learning and development unit which provides citywide training to city staff, by organizing, communicating, and tracking training offerings for the city according to the training plan and calendar.

Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Manages the training schedule by adding, updating, and removing training events across computer platforms such as Outlook and Saint Paul Connect.
  • Assists in creating and implementing training sessions including evaluation forms and preparing training materials.
  • Creates and maintains training registration forms, ensures timely payment of invoices to vendors through Accounts Payable functions for creating invoices, purchases orders, and service contracts. Tracks training budget expenditures.
  • Generates reports on training activities and their results to inform leadership for making training decisions. Sends attendance certificates to employees.
  • Assists with training facilitation for in house training, and handling logistics such as equipment, materials, and technology support.
  • Communicates training information by updating Saint Paul Connect pages. Assists in creating the Talent Development Newsletter and the Welcome to Saint Paul program. Handles communication and inquiries received from the training email account.

 Position Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Information Systems, Management, Business Management, or closely related field.

Four years of vacancy related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Vacancy-related experience includes experience in training, adult learning, education, project management, or a human resources role.
