Sports Wagering Analyst

The successful candidate will conduct audits of licensee's sports wagering systems and internal controls, conduct investigations, and enforce the rules and regulations of the South Dakota Commission on Gaming as it relates to sports wagering and general gaming, evaluate sports waging systems to ensure approved software is installed, and participate in observation and inspection programs. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working in collaborative team environments and demonstrating effective time management, organizational skills with attention to detail. Equally important will be a strong work ethic, integrity, interpersonal skills, discretion, confidentiality and a positive attitude.

Knowledge of:

  • the gaming industry and sports wagering;
  • investigative and auditing techniques; and
  • effective communication techniques.

Skill to:

  • conduct fact-finding audits and investigations;
  • analyze gathered information, prepare detailed reports and present information;
  • use computer and software associated with position;
  • organizational and time management skills;
  • effective interpersonal skills;
  • provide professional customer service;
  • inspect gaming devices; and
  • monitor casinos for violations.

Ability to:

  • understand and interpret state law, rules and regulations as they apply to gaming activities;
  • communicate clearly and concisely;
  • gather, organize and present information effectively and in a logical sequence;
  • establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, licensee's other agencies and the public; and
  • meet deadlines, think critically and solve problems.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
