Facilities and Events Coordinator at Irreducible Grace Foundation

Who We Are

At Irreducible Grace Foundation (IGF), our mission is to empower Youth of Color, ages 13 - 26, especially Black youth, who have faced systemic barriers and historical traumas. We provide nurturing and inclusive spaces for healing, skill development, and creating future leaders. Our programs include: Youth co-led arts-based programs offering safe spaces for collective healing, Black Cultural Arts, Elders in Arts, and Self-Care Sunday’s which includes workshops on self-care and well-being. Our work addresses critical gaps including lack of representation, educational disparities, economic and racial injustice, limited access to mental health support, and housing insecurity through culturally responsive and trauma-informed programming rooted in African culture and ancestral traditions.

Wages and Benefits

SCHEDULE

Generally this position will be needed Monday through Friday, though events may be on weekends or in the evenings, when the employee would flex their time another day within the same week and would know in advance.

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as IGF’s Facilities and Events Coordinator provides an opportunity to ensure building events and rentals run smoothly, the building is well maintained, and will include the following responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a space that creates opportunities for Black youth to develop and feel safe.
  • Developing and managing rental policies, procedures, agreements, schedules, and relationships for room reservations and a commercial kitchen.
  • Developing and executing a marketing plan for rentals and commercial kitchen membership.
  • Managing all aspects of facility rental agreements.
  • Providing event support as needed which may include setting up and taking down event spaces according to the specifications of the reserving party (i.e. tables, chairs, and other necessary equipment), and posting signage where necessary.
  • Coordinating the development of quarterly programming, building, and staffing schedules for rentals, commercial kitchen, and events.
  • Scheduling and managing maintenance contractors and managing maintenance vendor relationships (maintenance, custodial, snow removal, etc.).
  • Coordinating safety inspections and other scheduled maintenance items from external vendors.
  • Executing special projects related to maintenance, space use, and facilities systems as needed.
  • Resolving maintenance issues that arise by identifying equipment needs and space improvements.
  • Maintaining programming data throughout the year for annual reports including programs, activities, rentals, and commercial kitchen use.
  • Identifying and supporting professional development or certification required for staff members.

 

Who You Are

  • You have at least 3 years of experience working with youth of color and mentoring staff to effectively meet collective goals.
  • You have 3-5 years of program experience or related life experience.
  • You are highly organized, have strong attention to detail, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are proficient in Google Suite and Canva.
  • You demonstrate knowledge of basic budgeting and its programming impacts.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet IGF’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
