Job Summary :

The EdRedesign Lab (EdRedesign) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education invites applications for the position of Director of EdRedesign Fellowship for Cradle-to-Career Partnership Leaders, reporting to EdRedesign’s Deputy Director. The position will launch and oversee EdRedesign’s new fellowship program for cradle-to-career, place-based partnership leaders (Fellowship), including curriculum development (in conjunction with Deputy and Faculty Director), recruitment and selection processes, planning all Fellowship-related events, and supporting all operational aspects of the Fellowship program. The Fellowship is expected to launch in fall 2024, with recruitment and selection to begin this spring. Additionally, this position will be responsible for overseeing EdRedesign’s external collaborations related to the Fellowship and will represent the organization at national events through speaking and writing about the Fellowship.

About the Fellowship:

EdRedesign, in collaboration with national field leaders, is launching a tuition-free 18-month Fellowship for the next wave of leaders of cradle-to-career, place-based partnerships. This Fellowship will both upskill leaders and advance the field by creating certificates that validate the skills needed to lead and support place-based partnerships.

Place-based partnerships – networks of people and organizations in the same geographic area who work together to equitably improve community outcomes – are a critical and increasingly utilized approach to addressing our most pressing social and economic issues. Backbone organizations – or intermediaries - play an indispensable role in supporting place-based, collaborative action work. Leaders of these initiatives are at the center of partnerships and require a unique cross-sector skill set that is not typically taught in academic programs. This Fellowship fills a unique niche in leadership development by building skills of cradle-to-career, place-based partnership leaders with a carefully curated cross-sector training program.

Position Description :

  • Launch the Fellowship program in collaboration with EdRedesign staff and national partners
    • Coordinate all aspects of the Fellowship selection process, including recruiting candidates, marketing to national intermediaries, enlisting volunteer reviewers, and developing and overseeing the selection processes
    • Identify and develop Fellowship programming, curriculum, and materials throughout the 18-month fellowship, which includes three in-person convenings and monthly virtual sessions
    • Develop learning and network-building opportunities that expose Fellows to exemplary place-based partnerships of various models, units of change, and points of entry and accelerate the development of identified competencies
    • Support Fellows, including regular check-ins, collection of updates, success stories, and impact data, and ongoing cohort communications
    • Track and analyze Fellowship-related data to inform continuous improvement for future cohorts and to engage national funders
    • Support the development team to secure grant funding, including drafting grant proposals and reports and meeting with current and prospective funders as needed
    • Partner closely with EdRedesign senior leadership staff, national partners, and consultants to execute the activities above
    • Manage all administrative aspects of the Fellowship program, with support from staff, including overseeing all event planning, contracts, and vendors; overseeing the administration of travel and accommodations for Fellows; identifying space for trainings and receptions; and acting as onsite lead for Fellowship convenings
  • Integration with Harvard University and EdRedesign
    • Develop relationships with University partners across a range of disciplines, supporting the integration of EdRedesign’s new Fellowship into other relevant communities of practice work and related Fellowship programs across the University.
    • Represent the needs and interests of EdRedesign’s Fellowship program in other initiatives and public events.
    • Supervise work and processes of Fellowship staff, including primary responsibility for evaluating performance and performance management as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with University colleagues at Harvard and beyond; develop and maintain professional affiliations with colleagues in similar positions at other organizations; represent EdRedesign at conferences and events.

This is a two-year term position with possibility of renewal.
