Summer Co-op/Chemical Biology

Department Description:

The Chemical Biology department specializes in designing and validating molecules and cellular tools to elucidate molecular mechanisms of action (MMoA) in relevant cellular systems during the target validation phase in drug development process.

The ADC (Antibody Drug Conjugate) space in the biology side of the department is seeking to hire a Co-op interested in learning and performing ADC cellular assays to help understanding the internalization and the MMoA of ADC in tumoral cells.

Job Description:

  • The position aims to train the successful candidate in state-of-the-art techniques to develop ADC internalization assays in 2 and 3D cell culture using a high throughput platform (Incucyte) and fluorescence microscopy with the use of different pH sensitive Fabs probes.
  • Analyze and interpretate data of this assays using Incucyte and ImageJ software.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment in the Chemical Biology department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS (Seniors only), MS, or PhD in Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or similar disciplines.
  • Has an interest in drug discovery.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 6 month co-op (June - December 2024).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
