Student Web Editor
Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law is looking for a student worker for the role of student web editor. This position offers students the opportunity to learn web design and digital marketing skills, become comfortable making web edits in a content management system, and gain knowledge of digital accessibility.
This position is open to students in any major; the skills learned are applicable in a wide range of careers as nearly every business can benefit from a web presence.
Students will receive complete on-the-job training, and the student will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate professionally and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing requests for website updates from the clinics at Boyd School of Law
- Editing and proofreading content; formatting content for the web
- Writing original web content to promote campus programs and events
- Remediating digital content and documents for ADA accessibility
- Using SiteImprove to monitor and fix quality assurance issues on websites
- Improving the SEO (search engine optimization) of our website
- Building and updating online forms
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some web experience is a plus but is not required
- Strong writing skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn basic HTML
- Knowledge of writing/style guides such as the AP Stylebook
- Organized and able to manage multiple work assignments and meet deadlines
