Engineering Intern (Summer ‘24)

The duties of the Summer Engineering Intern be focused on supporting the execution of engineering related projects. This individual will work closely with plant Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams. This Relocation benefits are provided to eligible candidates.

 

Schreiber Foods is seeking multiple summer Engineering Interns across our manufacturing plants in the U.S.

 

What you'll do:

• Participate in project planning meetings with the project team and the equipment supplier

• Establishing design criteria for new equipment. Creating layouts and evaluating alternatives to choose the best solution

• Support process excellence engineering continuous improvement activities.

• Understand, troubleshoot, and perfect the use of process excellence tools (lean and six sigma)

• Independently analyze reports, identify trends and implement process improvements.

• Assist with the overall programming on the operations plant floor systems.

• Contact original equipment manufacturers to obtain equipment specifications, layouts and quotations.

• Collaborating with the Finance Team to analyze cost-benefit

• Managing vendors and contractors

• Conducting/Assisting with factory acceptance tests

• Overseeing/Assisting with equipment installation

• Creating electrical and/or mechanical drawings

• Managing small capital, reliability and continuous improvement projects

 

What you will need to succeed:

• Completed Sophomore-level status or higher toward a BS degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program (Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics or Manufacturing preferred)

• Ability to work 40 hours/week during the Summer ‘24

• Must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer

• Effective communications skills

• Ability to work well with Plant Partners, Engineering Partners, as well as Partners in other departments

• Ability to take ownership of assignments and complete them on time and accurately

• Desire to grow and take on new challenges/opportunities

• Reliable transportation
