Community Health Administrative Program Coordinator - Unpaid Internship

 Position: Community Program Coordinator - Internship (Unpaid)

Academic Resource Support and Services Mentoring Reading Program

We are looking for Summer Internship Applicants now!

The ideal applicant for our Community Programs Coordinator must be willing to be a skilled, resourceful, and caring individual who oversees the work with the Program Director. Responsibilities include supporting staff with documentation of records, creating and implementing the training.  

Please note that while this is an Unpaid internship, if you school allows for academic credits, we will work with your school and  department to help you get the necessary credits. Please let us know in your initial reply to us .

This is also a remote/virtual position that can be worked from anywhere in the USA.

Supervisor:  Executive Director                               

Classification: Volunteer/Unpaid Intern

Hours:                             Minimum 10 hours/week                 

Time:                             Flexible                                        

Location:                       Virtual 

Work Duration : Flexible: The candidate is expected to be willing to commit at least 8-12 weeks

 Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled college student with related experience and transferable skills in Health Education, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and  written Excellent organizational and management skills; able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent people skills
  • Flexible personality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word and Excel Proficient with social media, including Instagram and Facebook
  • Experience with budgeting and account management preferred
  • Masters degree Public Health or Human Services preferred
  • Prefer Bilingual in Spanish, or other language

Responsibilities

  • Help with developing program policies
  • Assist with the enrollment and onboarding processes of students and staff 
  •  Manage the records of students and staff
  •  Provide case management services to program participants
  • Participate in staff meetings to provide 
  • Complete monthly reports 
  • Ensure record compliance with the Virginia Department of Education regulations
  • Research, document, and share community resources
  • Refer families to community organizations as needed
  • Coordinate student transportation as needed
  • Assist Executive Director with related tasks as needed
