Radiology Technologist - Knowledge Bonus Eligible; up to $30,000

As an Inpatient Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients within our hospital. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to perform a variety of advanced imaging procedures and provide accurate and timely results. Your expertise and compassion will help guide patient care decisions and contribute to improved outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Imaging procedures: Perform a wide range of advanced radiographic examinations, including X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, and fluoroscopy, in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Patient positioning and safety: Ensure proper patient positioning for imaging procedures, taking into consideration patient comfort and safety. Implement radiation safety measures and shielding to minimize exposure for patients, staff, and yourself.
Equipment operation and maintenance: Operate and maintain complex radiology equipment, including CT scanners, MRI machines, and other specialized imaging devices. Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
Image analysis and interpretation: Analyze and interpret radiographic images, collaborating closely with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate reports and assist in the diagnostic process. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of imaging findings.
Team collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including radiologists, nurses, and support staff. Communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow, timely completion of imaging procedures, and seamless patient care.
Patient education and support: Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support. Ensure that patients are well-informed and comfortable throughout the imaging process.
Quality assurance and improvement: Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of imaging services. Identify opportunities for process improvement, contribute to protocol development, and stay updated with advances in radiology technology and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of AMA approved hospital-based program.
License(s):
Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.
Certification(s):
Must obtain AHA BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
