Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Basic computer literacy, good verbal and written communication skills
License or Certification:
All respiratory therapists will hold the National Board for Respiratory Care entry level certification (CRT) prior to their first day of Mayo employment. All graduate respiratory therapists must possess valid permission (permanent or temporary permit) to practice with the licensing board in the state of hire prior to their first day of Mayo employment. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is required upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional NBRC specialty credentials preferred .Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of employment. Pediatric Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within one year of hire.
