Marketing, Affiliate, Programming Intern

SNY is an Emmy Award winning, multiplatform regional sports network serving millions of homes throughout the New York Metropolitan area and across the country through unparalleled and exclusive coverage of the New York Mets, New York Jets, UConn women’s basketball and all things New York sports.

Job Description

Intern will assist the marketing and programming departments in various consumer and affiliate marketing, public relations, on-air promotion, program planning, ratings research and streaming related tasks. Each department manager will assign on-going, daily responsibilities related to the Mets on SNY, in addition to key marketing initiatives such as Play Ball, Kidcaster, and the SNY app. Interns will actively participate in weekly department meetings and various project meetings throughout the semester.

Responsibilities

Affiliate:

  • Assists with creation of unique programming schedules as requested by affiliates
  • Maintains distributor and syndication channel information for internal documents
  • Sends premiums and tickets to affiliates as needed
  • Tracks streaming related inquiries and issues pertaining to the SNY app
  • Manages the premium closet and tracking of inventory

Marketing:

  • Assists with planning and execution of tune-in media campaigns for the Mets on SNY
  • Helps manage various consumer marketing tasks such as Kidcaster and SNY Play Ball
  • Reviews game broadcasts to ensure drop-ins and promotions are executed properly
  • Helps coordinate the execution of strategic trade partnerships
  • Tracks and logs SNY social marketing schedule to assure proper execution

Programming:

  • Assists in creating weekly contingency programming for live sports programming
  • Assists in creation of monthly schedule grids for Mets Fast Forward, Closed Captioning
  • Helps work with Master Control on coordinating feed schedules
  • Provides support in creation of schedules and rating analysis projects
  • Inputs monthly schedules into Nielsen scheduling system

 

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution throughout the program’s duration, with a current academic standing of junior or above
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to quickly learn new computer software
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by SNY
  • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols

 

Location & Time Commitment

  • This role is on-site at our New York City, NY office, requiring a minimum commitment of 21 hours weekly or three days per week, preferably Monday - Wednesday.

Additional Information

The hourly rate for this student internship is $16.00.
