Production Planning - Summer Internship

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Production Planning Intern located at our facility in Rochelle, IL. Reporting to the Director of Production Planning, this position will be hands-on, and will learn the essential duties of Production Planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for creating Production schedules along all lines of machine centers using SAP software: (Main operations to include: Mills, slitters, threaders, groovers, galvanize)

· Balancing/closing work orders for accounting if needed

· Answering quotes for Customer Service Reps

· Create outside WOs as needed for operations

· Check inbound steel receipts daily vs. upcoming rolling schedules.

· Work with inventory dept and operations to resolve any discrepancies.

· Other clerical duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Current College student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Production Planning or related field

· A strong team player is necessary with the ability to coordinate efforts of many individuals internal and external to the organization

· Sound decision making ability, computational, and analytical skills

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Highly focused detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills

· Math and analytical skills required (computer coding and/or process automation courses is a plus)

· Time management skills a must to meet fast paced deadlines for internal customers
