Spring 2024 - Robotics Programmer

Spring Semester 2024 Internship

Koshee is looking for students interested in learning and applying their skills in C++ to outdoor robotics platforms. We provide access to latest generation hardware, including CPU/GPU platforms like the Nvidia Orin and Jetson TX2, latest survey-grade outdoor localization equipment from Emlid and Matterport, advanced cameras like OAK-D Fixed focus cameras, and powerful, rugged robotics chassis. 

Each student is provided with hands-on mentorship with a computer scientist and is surrounded by a team of interns and students from CS, CE, and ME backgrounds working on senior design projects involving real-world outdoor robotics. The Spring 2024 program will continue work on an outdoor automated 4k psi pressure washer, and the internal robotics controller and drivers for accessing, analyzing, and actioning camera feeds, remote controllers, onboard automation/autonomy, machine learning pipelines, motor controllers, and various sensors and actuators.

We're interested in students with the following skills:

  • C++ (required)
    • Multithreading is a major plus
    • I/O experience especially with USB/Serial ports is a plus
    • Networked systems experience is a plus (e.g., sockets)
  • Ubuntu 20 and/or Ubuntu 22
  • Github and git version control
  • Robotics experience
    • C++ code experience is appreciated
    • ROS (optional and not necessary)
  • Team Project experience is a major plus
    • Communication
    • Documentation (MD and/or Wiki)
    • Git pull requests
    • Code reviews
