About the Role 

We are looking to hire a school nurse to join our team. The school nurse is a key member of our team and is primarily responsible for providing our scholars with quality health services and  connecting our families with community resources.  

Responsibilities of the Nurse will include but are not limited to: 

  • Act as a proactive liaison between children, families and health care resources to access  and coordinate care
  • Administer first aid, medication, specialized medical treatment and health screenings
  • Refer students who require further medical attention to needed treatment
  • Assess situations involving students’ safety
  • Maintain all health records and reporting procedures to external agencies to ensure  compliance with established regulations
  • Work as part of a school-wide team to encourage healthy living
  • Implement health care plans for special education students, children with chronic health  problems and/or 504 accommodation requirements
  • Coordinate/Provide training on various health related subjects or policies (e.g. CPR/First  Aid, disaster preparedness, health education, etc.) as needed
  • Track and manage health data to identify trends, improve student health outcomes and  reduce the spread of illness.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Demonstration of strong interpersonal judgement
  • Self-motivated leader who can work independently as well as part of team
  • Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and a “whatever it takes” disposition
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, strongly preferred.

Educational Background and Work Experience 

  • Current State RN license;
  • Bachelor's Degree recommended
