Semiconductor Device Yield Engineer

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

Essential Duties:

We are seeking a candidate to join an effort developing quantum semiconductor devices through yield engineering and process maturation. The candidate will lead focused R&D efforts involving collecting, compiling, and analyzing data (in-line metrology and cryogenic e-test) to guide process optimization of various nanoscale quantum semiconductor devices.  The engineer should have experience both in integrated circuit semiconductor processing and in multivariate statistical data analysis.  The position requires frequent inter- and intra-functional team technical communication, effective oral and written reporting, a strong work ethic, and natural scientific curiosity. 

Required Skills:

•Development of novel semiconductor or quantum devices, including experience with cleanroom fabrication processes.  Industrial CMOS experience preferred

•Semiconductor device physics

•Data analysis of standard semiconductor process metrology (e.g. defect SEM, overlay, ellipsometry, CDSEM) and e-test (e.g. FETs, capacitors, Hall bars, snake/comb)

•Statistical analysis and design of experiments

•Failure analysis, including materials characterization techniques

•Python, SQL, JMP scripting; though specific languages are less important

•Reporting and documentation of results

Required Education:

Ph.D. in applied physics, physics, materials science, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field.  Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor yield engineering field.

Special Requirements:

U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.  

Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $128,900 - $157,900 + bonus + benefits.
