Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for a Jr. Planner Scheduler Intern for our facility located in Troy, MI. Reporting to the Director of Logistics and Scheduling, this individual will learn the basics of Master Scheduling while working along Z Modulars Master Scheduler. This position will be supporting all four manufacturing facilities as well as our 3rd party fabricators. The suitable candidate will have a significant focus on production schedule accuracy, specific to subassemblies and component work. Reviewing Power BI reports alongside MS D365 schedules and plant-created manual schedules. Constantly ensuring that the MS D365 is accurate, depicting production schedules and timelines and working to remove the requirements of maintaining Excel/manual versions of schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aid in maintaining a 0–48 month Master Production Plan for offline subassembly production.
- Utilize production capacity, taking into consideration the historical run rates, equipment maintenance, and process improvement implementation.
- Aid in creating and maintaining schedules and trackers for 3rd party fabricated materials used in production and/or field operations.
- Create and maintain reports outlining discrepancies found in plant and 3ard party production schedules.
- Assist in reviewing date discrepancies between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Production and manual Excel Production Schedules for each production facility and 3rd party fabricator.
- Collaborate with the Master Scheduler, Production Coordinators, and production personnel to aid in issue resolution pertaining to any timeline/scheduling issues found in the production facilities.
- Review 3rd Party Fabricators' timelines as they line up with overall production plans/schedules.
- Collaborate with Master Scheduler and Procurement Personnel to utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 to track orders pertaining to 3rd Party Fabricators Production.
- Act as “back-up” for the Sr. Master Scheduler in the event they may be out of office.
- Become a super user in D365 to remove the redundancy of maintaining manual schedules.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in related fields (Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science).
- Strong Excel experience required (Pivot Tables, Complex Formulas, Power Queries, Index, Match, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytic, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Extremely strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Power BI expertise preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 software preferred, but not required.
- Ability to travel within USA and Canada.
- Must be able to work independently and quickly adjust to a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Regular, full-time, predictable attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
- Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
