Role Description
Petite Studio NYC is looking for a Fashion Design Intern to assist in day-to-day activities in their North Bergen, NJ office location. This is a on-site internship role and this position will be given for school credit or transportation stipend.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend weekly fitting meeting and prepare for the fittings, including organizing the samples, measuring the samples, taking fitting notes etc.
- Research trends and runways through relevant market research that is in line with brand style
- Assist designer to create official tech packs to be sent to patternmaker
- Assist designer to oversees selection of fabric and trim
Qualifications
- Fashion Design student or a graduate looking for hands-on experience
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel and related software
- Understanding of garment construction and design principles
- Strong communication and writing skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to take direction, work independently as well as a part of the team
- Must be available to work at least 2 days a week for a minimum of 3 months.
