Safety Manager
HFI Management (“HFIM”) is currently seeking a Safety Manager based in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This role will Direct and oversee the internal and external marketing functions of assigned Companies.
HFIM is the administrative and sales support division of the Brad Hall family of companies. HFIM supports companies in fuel and lube distribution, propane sales, retail fuel stations, oil field services farming, fuel transportation and other industries. The family of Companies does business in the Western United States and supplies to over 30 states.
The Safety Manager will primarily be focused on:
Regulatory Compliance
Direct and complete safety training, that promotes behavior-based safety, for all employees.
Complete all necessary and required safety documentation such as OSHA 300, worker’s compensation logs, and safety analytics.
Ensure environmental compliance and reporting is complete and accurate.
Incident and Claim Management
Works closely with field management on incident prevention plans.
Monitor worker’s compensation claims, assist in medical management, and costs.
Inspections and Audits
Complete site-specific safety audits and assessments, driver assessments and ride alongs, etc.
Provide front line supervisors with corrective action assignments and completion tracking.
Program Management
Management of safety compliance programs throughout the affiliated companies.
Ensure safety programs are effective and complete for all companies including;
Hazardous fuel handling
DOT driving
Fire suppression
Other OSHA/MSHA requirements
Other site-specific safety requirements
Help to manage the Safety Committee’s activities.
Manage emergency response plans.
Develop and manage safety incentive programs.
The preferred candidate for the Safety Manager will have the following:
Five or more years’ experience in Safety Management, Operations Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills and able to learn company systems and processes.
Adheres to the company’s values and ethical expectations.
Able to effectively multitask.
Understanding of DOT regulations and compliance.
Excellent understanding of OSHA/MSHA regulations
Ability to train in Smith Systems, Forklift Training, Reasonable Suspicion and any others pertinent to Safety.
