Junior Data Analyst
The Junior Data Analyst role is an entry-level role focused on creating engaging, easy-to-use, actionable, interactive data analysis reports for K-12 schools. These reports help turn education data into education insights.
With supervision and guidance, this position develops data ingestion, transformation, and cleaning processes to prepare data for reporting. Additionally, with supervision and guidance, this position writes queries and creates charts and tables that are designed to be easy to use by students, parents, and school staff.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with querying relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) with SQL queries written without the aid of a query builder
- Ability to translate business rules into data visualizations and database queries (SQL)
- Ability to analyze large volumes of data to identify patterns and erroneous data
- Basic ability to diagnose the root cause of errors and propose solutions
- Proficiency with the use of a version control system (e.g., Git)
- Comfort working with team members to define problems based on customer needs and collaboratively develop solutions
- Attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy
- Ability to draft documentation of new and existing processes
- Knowledge of HTML/JS/CSS, a scripting language (e.g., Node.js, Python), or R is a plus!
Experience
Applicants should have completed coursework related to the position's qualifications or 1+ years of work experience encompassing the position’s qualifications.
