Commercial Lines Agency Insight | Business Analyst I

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Business Analyst I to join its Agency Insights Center of Excellence. Our Agency Insights capability is a core element of Hanover’s differentiated approach and creates a significant competitive advantage. This is a full time, exempt role and is eligible for Hybrid/Flex work arrangement out of our Worcester office.
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role will serve as a key member of the Agency Insights Center of Excellence within Hanover’s Corporate Strategy Group. The Center drives the production and innovation of a unique consulting tool that provides Agents with valuable benchmarks, portfolio management opportunities and customer insights. The Center also taps into the contributory database to inform new Hanover capabilities and initiatives.
 
The Business Analyst is a results-oriented individual who thrives on identifying actionable insights, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with others to develop growth ideas and creating transparency on the process and outcomes. This role is focused on our Commercial Lines Agency Insight capability.
 
Team members work on high-impact opportunities that provide a broad exposure to the company and key leaders. Collaboration, intellectual curiosity and a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude are key principles of our team.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Facilitate the acquisition and enhancement of Commercial Lines Agency data.
  • Assemble high impact insights utilizing the automated benchmarking tool.
  • Connect insights to the proposed utilization of select Hanover products and services.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to both the Agency and Hanover’s field leaders and Agency Insight Business Development Managers.
  • Support the Business Development Managers as they design Agency specific growth programs.
  • Execute routine reports by extracting data from various information systems.
  • Document processes to allow for consistent approach to future initiatives.
  • Solicit and apply best practices in analytical and reporting techniques.
  • Validate results to ensure accuracy.
  • Run meetings as appropriate using best practice tools & techniques. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance
  • 0 – 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and organized
