In this role you will, collect and identify archeological information from a variety of sources in accordance with specific instructions and established procedures. Prepare reports documenting anthropological, archaeological, historical investigations for inclusion in environmental documents and compliance with Federal cultural resources directives. Write and prepare for distribution environmental documents as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and other federal government laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act and other applicable laws and regulations, including consultation with review agencies. Perform field investigations to identify, evaluate, excavate, collect, map and interpret soil profiles and stratigraphic relationships for archaeological resources. Assists in planning and conducting cultural resources investigations including records and literature searches, archival studies, and field work consisting of reconnaissance and surveys and Global Positions System (GPS) mapping.
