Position Description

The Department of Taxation is seeking an energetic, responsible, and highly motivated IT Professional 3 to serve as a Technical Lead for the Department's Unified Tax System modernization project. We are a dedicated and collaborative team that works well together to help Taxation achieve its mission and maintain a positive work culture. We value individual strengths, teamwork, and decision-making through consensus. The incumbent will be responsible to collaborate and support the SI (system integrator) with the technical development of the Tax Modernization project including alignment with State/Taxation policies and procedures, solution development, knowledge transfer, data conversion, reporting, and infrastructure administration. The selected individual will act as a solution architect to ensure the solution supports current and future needs. This position will be located within the Department's Carson City office. The position will report directly to the Project Manager (ITP4) and will work on the Department's Tax System Modernization Project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
