Summer Fellowship with Oregon's 6th Congressional District!

The Summer 2022 Fellowship Program is an opportunity for high school and college students to gain valuable organizing skills and campaign experience, while also working on one of the most important and competitive races in the country for the 2022 election cycle. Fellows will work alongside organizing staff to elect Democrats in Oregon's 6th Congressional District.

Oregon's 6th Congressional District is one of only 6 new congressional districts across the country as a result of the most recent census. As this is a new district and there is no incumbent, the upcoming primary on May 17th will determine the candidate that will run on the Democratic ticket in November. DCCC has not and will not endorse a candidate prior to the primary.

The Summer Fellowship Program will run for 8-10 weeks: Fellows will be onboarded in two separate waves depending on their school calendars and availability. Starting on either the first wave onboarding date of June 8th or second wave date of June 21, Summer Fellows will work with the campaign through August 19th with the possibility of continuing through the Fall. Throughout the duration of the program, students will participate in an in depth training series exposing them to organizing fundamentals, including having persuasive conversations with voters, using digital organizing tools, running effective campaign events, and much more! Working directly with a Field Organizer, Fellows will apply this learning and engage in organizing actions in the community including canvassing, phone banking, recruiting and managing volunteers, running campaign events, and other responsibilities as needed.

The Early Decision Deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 13 and the Regular Decision Deadline is Friday, May 27. Applicants will be contacted for interviews on a rolling basis- Early Decision applicants will receive a decision in late May and Regular Decision applicants will receive a decision in early June. For any questions, please contact Erika Guy at eguy@dccc.org.

This position complies with the Fair Labor Standard Act.
