Windows Systems Administrator II (2244)

Job Description

Myriad Genetics is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator II to join our team. Someone who can add value to our team, help navigate the tech transformation to the cloud and has a desire to work for a company that improves people’s lives would be a great fit.
Our team members primarily work remotely from their home office, while maintaining general proximity to one of our office locations. Preferably near Salt Lake City, UT or Mason, OH. 

Core Functions: To design, implement, support, and perform administration of systems including, but not limited to:

  • Windows Server Administration – Server management, AD, PowerShell, etc.
  • VMware Administration - vSphere, Horizon, NSX, VxRail, etc.
  • Production Support – Assisting with tickets, enhancing documentation, providing excellent customer service.
  • Cloud Management - Ability to assist with hybrid cloud planning and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience: In addition to the items listed above, preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the following:

  • Systems administration experience in a Windows environment.
  • Track record of success in a production support role involving troubleshooting and customer service.
  • Ability and interest in improving documentation and identifying areas of improving operational processes.
  • Interest or experience with AWS cloud & configuration management including architecture, migrations, operations.
  • Leading projects – someone who takes ownership & initiative even in a remote setting.
  • Virtualization experience using VMware.
  • Scripting & automation experience to analyze data, perform administration tasks, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team on-call rotation for 24x7 support of Windows server systems.
  • Participate in scheduled off-hours monthly maintenance activities.
  • Resolve ticket requests from end-users in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Train users and cross-train IT staff as needed. Create good documentation. 
  • Collaborate with teams on projects, security initiatives, vendor relationships, etc.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant technical experience, preferably at a medium to large enterprise.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
  • Foundational knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Azure AD
  • General working knowledge of VMware and virtualization concepts
  • General working knowledge of cloud technologies and concepts

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
