Clinical Research Scientist-Part Time (2207)

Job Description

This is a Part-Time, Flexible position (Minimum 20 hrs, but might be up to 29 hrs per week) and can work remote, or onsite in South San Francisco or Salt Lake City.
Myriad Genetics is a genetic testing company that provides actionable health information, empowering patients and their families to make critical and timely healthcare decisions, whether they’re evaluating risk for cancer, thinking about starting a family, or in search of more effective mental health treatment.
In this role in the Clinical Development department, the candidate will have primary responsibility for collecting and maintaining the quality of prenatal outcomes data, and lead efforts to design and implement an efficient prenatal outcomes collection system. These outcomes will enable critical analyses of prenatal genetic test performance and evidence that drives clinical adoption and coverage. A successful candidate has deep knowledge of prenatal genetics and pregnancy outcomes, scientific and clinical expertise in genetic testing, experience in the clinical setting, experience reviewing medical records and test results, ability to communicate with and maintain key professional relationships with clinical providers, and familiarity with research.

Responsibilities
  • Collect pregnancy outcomes on select patients who have undergone prenatal genetic testing at Myriad. Ensure that diagnostic test results and other health information is correctly noted and that supplementary records are obtained.
  • Establish points of contact and efficient communication with clinics from which pregnancy outcomes are needed.
  • Ensure that outcomes forms that have been previously received are appropriately uploaded into a usable database.
  • Determine a feasible workflow for ongoing outcomes collection, including possibilities for automated collection.
  • Collaborate on analyses of outcomes data and studies based on such analyses, and contribute to publication of such data as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a biology-related field required, advanced clinical or scientific degree in genetics preferred (MS in Genetic Counseling, for example)  
  • 2-3 years experience in prenatal genetics 
  • Experience in the clinical setting, either as a provider or staff member  
  • Familiarity with research and data analysis  
  • Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally  
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to confidently converse with clinical providers 
  • Eagerness to contribute to a supportive, interdisciplinary team
