Production Planner

Job Summary:
Trane by Trane Technologies in Trenton, NJ is hiring a Materials Production Planner. In this role, you will work under and help support the master scheduler who is responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the production schedule in alignment with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) consensus plan. This position will work closely with internal operations leaders, material planners, quality, along with external customers to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, efficient resource/capacity utilization and inventory investment.
 
This role will also lead a small Replacement Parts and Accessories (RPS) team. This team performs the pick, pack, kitting, and shipping of small packages to customers.  This role is on-site based out of our plant in Trenton, NJ.
 
Responsibilities:
    * Establish production manufacturing priorities for the customer demands consistent with master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and service level goal
    * Implement production tools for building to actual customer demands, prioritizing builds, expediting, and automating transactions per Lean concepts.
    * Monitors schedule performance against plan to maintain priorities and meet established schedules.
    * Facilitates phase-in/phase-out models associated with design changes, value-engineering, supplier sourcing changes and product lifecycle
    * Coordinate intercompany orders/shipments
    * Identify opportunity to reduce/consolidate replacement parts orders
    * Meet daily with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, overtime, priorities, and identified problems.
    * Provides timely and excellent customer service as the leader of the RPS area
    * Continuous development, implementation, enforcement, and improvement of processes
    * Create and publish daily/weekly/monthly factory schedule adherence, capacity, and inventory reports.
    * Ensure adherence to plant work rules, collective bargaining agreement, and payroll compliance.
    * Ensures team functions are performed safely and in accordance with established EHS procedures. Completes accident reports and initiates necessary training to prevent future accidents.
    * Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources
    * Drive employee engagement and involvement
    * Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
    * Experience in materials, demand, and production planning.
    * Supervision experience preferred
    * Strong analytical capabilities
    * Strong interpersonal skills, independent problem resolution
    * Microsoft Excel skillset must include pivot tables, lookup functions and charting.
    * Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
    * Bachelor's degree required
    * APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
