Quality Engineering Team Leader

Do you have a passion for quality and leading others? Trane Technologies is looking to hire a hands-on Quality Engineering Team Leader at our Clarksville, TN facility. This facility manufactures commercial HVAC products. 
 
If you have quality engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, then Trane Technologies wants to hear from you. In this role you will provide technical quality leadership in developing and implementing quality systems, procedures and plans to assure the high quality products. Determine compliance to quality systems and identify opportunities to improve product quality, efficiency of quality techniques and customer satisfaction.
 
Responsibilities: 
    * Responsible for execution and resolution of SCAR/CAR system. Must investigate and document corrective actions. Leads investigations, identifies root cause, ensures good containment and inventory purge, and implements solid corrective action.
    * Drives data collection and analysis to drive process and product improvement.
    * Create and modify control plans/inspection standards for existing new programs. Identify control points, inspection techniques and required gages. Ensure gages are obtained for production needs.
    * Execute statistical process control (SPC) in machining where appropriate
    * Review, update and modify supplier FAI of PPAP packages needed. 
    * Interface with quality and engineering staff to document first articles and approvals during initial process validation.
    * Develop, maintain and improve process inspection system. Ensure inspection requirements are understood by the people who are conducting the inspection. 
    * Identify recurring problems occurring with material, set-up, process, handling and take appropriate actions.
    * Maintain and improve final inspection system. Ensure inspection requirements are understood by the people who are conducting the inspection.
    * Responsible for the Material Review Board (MRB). Conducts regular meetings of the MRB (per procedure). Defines sort and rework criteria, Recommends repair and scrap criteria.
    * Develop and sustain relationships with the field quality engineer, technical support customers and field service representatives to better understand field quality issues
    * Partner with operations and manufacturing engineering to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions for customer complaints
    * Review and report warranty and concession claims to implement improvements with production and engineering teams
 
Qualifications:
    * Bachelors’ degree in engineering
    * Must demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills. Must work well in a team environment. Must work well across functional lines. Must be comfortable working closely with both the design teams and with shop floor personnel.
    * Proficient in CCM & NDT inspections
    * Knowledge of GD&T and Drawings interpretation per ANSI/ASME y.14.5
    * QMS Auditing experience
    * Ability to update drawings using Solid Edge, Unigraphics, and AutoCAD desirable.
    * Must demonstrate ability to interpret traceability requirements and certifications.
    * Competent in use of typical surface plate inspection tools (gauges, plates, micrometers, bore gauges).
    * Proficient in technical writing for development of test plans and documentation.
    * Competent in the use of production equipment, grinders, drill presses, lathes, mills, welding, etc.
