Sr. Quality Engineer

Job Summary:
 
This position is responsible for the execution and optimization of quality management system that assist internal staff, suppliers, customers and partners with initiatives that re-engineer processes and methods targeted at achieving company objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality.
 
Responsibilities: 
    * Responsible for product/process quality for the entire Supply Chain, from supplier to customer, of several Product Lines; drive effective root cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances for all elements of the following:
         + In-house manufacturing - support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.
         + Customers - championing the reduction of customer complaints; reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs, through engagement of engineering, operations, purchasing and customer service.
         + Supplier Quality - improve supplier quality by working with procurement, engineering, and suppliers. Enforce supplier chargeback process, capturing COPQ
    * Collect and analyze Customer quality performance (DPPM) at regular intervals for metric reporting. Identify improvement opportunities for respective customers and develop improvement plans in conjunction with engineering and key suppliers. Customer Claims Management & Product Quality Assurance
    * Ownership of the Corrective Action process including issuance of SCAR's and follow-through activities of containment, root cause analysis, countermeasures and verification of effectiveness by the supplier.
    * Lead, contribute and improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System. Ensure all deliverables are met for customer and regulatory body compliance.
    * Lead and coordinate internal/external audits (ISO, IR BOS, Other).
    * Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
    * Monitor, support and coordinate corrective actions, and deviations. Take a leading role in defect analysis and continuous improvement efforts with goal of zero defects.
    * Implement process improvements by utilizing quality methodologies and tools (Six-sigma, 5S, Lean and TPS) to enhance internal and external performance. Utilizing PFMEA as a live document.
    * Benchmark business processes against best-in-class and drive implementation of best practices throughout the organization.
    * Know and comply with the Trane Quality Policy 
    * New Product Development participation and ownership.
         + Complete Preproduction, PPAP (FAIR, FMEA, and control plan), APQP packages on current and new production components, subassemblies, and/or units. Review documentation for completeness and conformity to regulatory standards and maintain latest revisions. Thoroughly understand documentation requirements internally and externally.
         + Improve new product development process by implementing corrections from historical field feedback loop.
    * Support and contribute to Develop and verify compliance of the ASME & PED Quality Control Program
    * Work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high-pressure atmosphere. Combine strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution. 
    * Create, maintain, and report daily, weekly and/or monthly KPIs
    * Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee timecards
    * Perform other duties as assigned by management.
 
 
 
Key Competencies:
    * We are seeking a high-energy Quality Engineer with a pragmatic problem-solving approach and compressed sense of time.
    * Have a proven track record product line responsibility and addressing Quality issues with high visibility within an organization, a mindset of continuous improvement and a passion for root cause analysis.
    * Requires a metric/results driven individual with a demonstrated experience in a Lean Manufacturing philosophy.
    * Possess a strong understanding of effective Quality systems and methodologies and their impact on both the internal and external business environments; experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
    * Capable of using inspection tools (gages, optical comparator, CMM, etc.) and knowledgeable with manufacturing processes.
    * Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; able to engage members of Engineering, Sales, Purchasing or other teams as needed to address quality issues.
    * Able to assist on the production floor as needed to ensure quality process compliance.
    * Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP's, and First Article Submission.   
    * Proficiency with MSOffice Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
 
Education / Experience Requirements:
    * Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
    * Previous manufacturing knowledge required.
    * Proficient with Microsoft Office products 
    * ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or training is preferred
    * ASQ Certified Quality Engineering certification preferred.
    * Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must.
 
 
 
 
Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents): $66,000 - $136,000
