Principal Database Architect/Data Analyst

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applied Research Associates, Inc. is looking for candidates to join our Data Transformation of Foundational Military Intelligence (DTMI) team in Herndon, VA, where you will support our efforts by leading the analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of the work to ensure the activities undertaken support a well designed and implemented data environment. The ideal candidate utilizes the Government-provided conceptual data models, along with the results of the other DTMI Tasks, in order to derive the appropriate logical and physical data models required for the database design and implementation.

Gathers data requirements, data rules, and understands relationships between data feeds. Should understand how algorithms run, and can interpret if received feedback matches expected results, and helps data scientists refine the algorithm. Experience in data management, creating, maintaining, and updating data records contained in the data catalog.

Database Tools: PostgeSQL, MongoDB, S3, ElastiCache, SCT, DMS, Apache NiFi, AWS Data Pipeline, DIA’s Collaborative Operations & Development Environment (CODE)

Must currently hold a TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance.

Principal Database Architect/Data Analyst Required Experience & Skills:
• MA/MS in in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics along with 7-9 years of intelligence experience
• 8+ years’ experience with complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views; 3+ years’ experience with Sybase; 8+ years’ experience with SQL Server
• A desire to work in a dynamic team environment
• Experience in data management, creating, maintaining, and updating data records contained in the data catalog.

Principal Database Architect/Data Analyst Desired Experience:
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Security+ Certification
