SME ITASE Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applied Research Associates, Inc. is looking for candidates to join our Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Division in Charlottesville, VA, where you will support our growing business in modeling and simulation of physical phenomena within Integrated Threat Analysis Simulation Environment (ITASE) to improve terrain and ground cover modeling. We apply traditional modeling and simulation approaches as well as deep learning and computer vision techniques to solve critical problems. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing software engineering methodologies, analytical algorithms, and software tools that strengthen our national security.

Our work focuses on modeling a terrain and ground cover as part of the ITASE simulation system. As a software engineer on our team, your day-to-day work will consist of developing or integrating a wide variety of models into the ITASE modeling and simulation software and performing verification & validation on the models to ensure that they produce realistic results. You will be continuously challenged to learn and grow expertise in new areas.

The most successful candidates have a strong technical background in science, engineering, or mathematics and a desire to continue expanding their knowledge. Expertise (and interest!) in writing robust and performant C++ and Python software is also highly desirable. If this describes you, please apply!

SME ITASE Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer Required Experience & Skills:
• Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance
• An MA/MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics with 7-9 years of relevant work experience 
• A strong interest in and ability to develop modeling and simulation software in C++ and Python
• A desire to work in a dynamic team environment
• 10+ Years of Software Engineering with M&S expertise
