Lifeguards and Aquatics Instructors at summer camp for kids with disabilities

Seeking lifeguards or aquatics staff interested in working with children with disabilities for a unique employment opportunity at summer therapy camp.

Bay Cliff Health Camp is a non-profit organization formed in 1934 and located in Big Bay, MI on the shore of Lake Superior. Our main program is a residential summer therapy camp for kids 3-17 that need OT, PT, and/or ST.

The dates for summer camp 2022 for staff are June 12 to August 7. The first week is staff orientation, then the kids come on June 18 and stay for 7 weeks.

Lifeguards are members of the Aquatics Staff, who are responsible for ensuring the safety of the children and staff while on, in or near the water for swimming and boating. The Aquatics Staff is responsible for the operation and supervision of all waterfront activities. The goal is to improve each child’s swimming ability while at the same time promoting swimming and boating as recreational activities to be enjoyed safely. Swimming classes are conducted primarily in Bay Cliff’s indoor pool. Weather permitting, activities are held on the Lake Superior or Lake Independence waterfront on weekends.

Our lifeguards stay on camp for the summer, receiving free housing and meals. There are nearby lakes, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, woods, biking and hiking trails, rock climbing locations for those looking to have an adventure on days off. You will be provided with an opportunity for networking, professional growth, and making a difference in the life of a child!
