Testing Automation Specialist
Job Description :
Engage in a highly collaborative environment where automation developers, Project Management Office, application owners, and the business leads work as a team to eliminate manual tests and deploy sustainable automation solutions for in-house and cloud applications
Utilize AGILE methodology in phased deployments
Work proactively with other IT groups to address and resolve issues
Work with automation team to plan quarterly patching tests, schedule tests, review results with a goal to steadily reduce testing time.
Automate tests using Smartbear TestComplete or similar software; setting up the test environment; documenting automation framework and automation steps; using programming skills to extend automation software capabilities to meet testing goals and coverage; maximize test coverage for the most critical features of test cases.
Participate in daily meetings with automation team to monitor progress, address issues, analyze root cause and escalate problems that needs management attention
Maintain and update automated scripts for changes
Be involved in end-to-end testing done by business leads with a goal to increase automation progressively
Review test results with business and address issues in automation
Follow strict standards in logging testing issues and tracking them to completion.
Write custom extensions in languages like JavaScript, Python, VBScript, C, and C++, PL SQL to create new tests or enhance existing test recordings.
Follow DevSecOps standards for version control and deployments
Use Jenkins or similar tools to schedule multi-threaded automated tests across business units
Work collaboratively with program managers and IT application leads to collect performance testing requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills :
o BS in Computer Science or Equivalent
o 3+ years’ experience in testing automation / load testing
Skills
o Hands-on experience in Smartbear TestComplete or similar software applications testing automation tools
o Coding experience in software such as PL SQL, Java, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, C, C++ to extend automation software functionality
o Knowledge of business process mapping and documentation of requirements
o Work with software vendors for issues and resolution
o Collaborate and work as a team with both IT and business contacts to get results
o Good written and verbal communications skills
o Self-starter, highly organized, detail oriented person
o Ability to adapt to and succeed in a fast paced, changing environment
o Ability to work in multiple tasks and projects.
o Ability to teach others.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :
Exposure to enterprise applications like Oracle ERP on premise and cloud.
Exposure to ALM for tracking issues
Exposure to ServiceNow to manage projects in AGILE methodology
AGILE software development methodology
Exposure to working in container environments like Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes
